Work

work
[wurk] Show IPA noun, adjective, verb, worked or working. noun

1.exertion or effort directed to produce or accomplish something; labor; toil.
2. something on which exertion or labor is expended; a task or undertaking
3. productive or operative activity.

Work! There are those that dread it and those that enjoy it. I am so very happy to say that I am a blessed wife whom God has given a husband that works hard to earn enough to take care of both of us so that I can be a home maker. It's good to get your hands dirty and sweat once in a while though, so
yesterday my friend Caroline and I took a trip over to my friend Eleanora's house to help get her yard ready for some beautiful flowers to be planted soon. So we ripped out some weeds to make a decent flower bed in the front yard and as Eleanora has told me, destroy some potted trees that have been sitting and growing next to the house. These trees have been growing for 2 years in plastic pots and she was sure they had broken through the pots and taken root, so we were in for some muscle work. To our pleasant surprise, the tree roots were still in the pot! So destruction of the unsightly, unwanted baby trees was easier than expected.

Sayonara trees. You have met your demise.

Caroline and I got down in the dirt while Eleanora took care of the potted trees, and I am not afraid of the dirt, weeds or insects thanks to my Granddad who I had the joy of weeding the yard with growing up. So this was all very nostalgic for me! The worms weren't so bad, it was mainly the large pincher bugs and spiders I hadn't seen before that had me so very curious but cautious. Needless to say we tackled that flower bed and those trees and Eleanora is one step closer to getting those flowers planted! All the while I got to snap a few photos of their precious children who we pinned up the yard and gave a little baby pool to play in. All-in-all I enjoyed yesterday, as I always enjoy time with my friends. I can't wait to make more Twinkles in time with them.

Friends

 friend

[frend] noun
1. a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard.
2. a person who gives assistance; patron; supporter
3. a person who is on good terms with another; a person who is not hostile

Friends are like an ice cream shop. They are the best thing in the world. Period, haha.
Today I got to spend a few hours with my awesome friend Eleanora. We haven't known each other very long, but that doesn't matter because we have a lot of things in common and she's just a blessing to have in my life right now as are all of my friends here in Oklahoma. We got to run some errands (yay!) and grab some excellent grub (More yay!). I got to try a new restaurant called Cheddar's and it was fabulous! While we only got to spend a few hours together today they were so nice because it got me out of the house and I got to enjoy time with a good friend. I was even able to snap a photo of her handsome son Ryan. He is so photogenic!

It's hard to explain the abounding joys that come with being a military wife, and the same goes for the hard times. It was not easy leaving everyone and everything I knew in Georgia to come to a place I had never been and to a place I had no friends or family. All of my friends, a lot of them like family to me and all my family I left behind because I understood the calling on my life. To follow my husband wherever he was to go in this crazy military life because I love my husband more than I could ever express in words.
God has been my rock in the ups and downs so far, but so have all of the wonderful friends I've made here as well. I can't wait to meet more amazing people as we get to travel and experience life to the fullest. I know the friends I make now are ones I will stay in contact with for the rest of my life because, well, they are just that awesome. I am so blessed. (:

Twinkle

twin·kle

[twing-kuhl]  verb, twin·kled, twin·kling, noun
1. a flickering or intermittent brightness or light.
2. a scintillating brightness in the eyes; sparkle.
3. the time required for a wink; twinkling.

I love the word Twinkle. Not only is it fun to say but there are many meanings behind it. I love the way the stars twinkle at night. I love the way a persons eyes twinkle when they smile. Most of all though, I love the third definition of Twinkle. The time required for a wink; twinkling.

When you think about the time required to wink, it's only a few seconds. Life is so short we are nothing more than a twinkle in time. At times it seems as though the day is never long enough or that the sun will never set because this is the longest day of all time. This is when I love to remember the word twinkle. No matter how fast or slow life is passing me by I can stop and take a step back and look at my wonderful life and thank God I am so very blessed when I don't deserve a thing. I am here for such a time as this and such a short time it is!
Don't let life overwhelm you, you might miss the beauty that is all around.  Hold on to those precious twinkles in time that you see, because once a moment has passed you'll never get it back.

One reason I love photography and writing is they capture moments that you only see once. When you take a picture it's impossible to take an identical picture because the world keeps spinning and time keeps passing. The same is true when you write a moment down, you have something to look back on and remember.
I decided to start this blog so I can be motivated to share photos and write twinkles in time to all who care to read, and I hope they spread some bit of happiness to someone's life as they will have mine.
